Example, just recently Path of Titans had to delay their scheduled Pre Release due to a developer gettin COVID-19 and being hospitalized for a time. But when you are super secretive about development and never provide any even estimates and take 5 years to get to the point of “buggy tech demo” you lose a lot of faith from your player base. Yep, delays happen and I think most people are actually pretty understanding about them. Idk man, can't help but think that if a breakdown like this had been shown pre evirma to make it clear what would be in, what would be coming e.t.c and if the last months events and the allegations had been handled properly rather than the disgustingly dismissive approach seen on the discord we might be in a different spot, ngl kinda sucks that i don't even feel a flicker of the hype anymore when two months ago i'd be chatting on here excited about the new movement or something as mundane as fish. Like i've worked in game dev, and have friends who work in all facets of the industry, so when something has to be delayed or qa finds something or someone on the discord finds a way to break something that can't be repro'd in editor or hell if something just took longer than expected i get it, so delays don't irk me all that much as it happens.īut it's clear more people are needed to help lighten the programmers load, it seems the art side of things have been able to chug along making animations and the meshes and textures (look great by the way)(though i assume that this is mostly due to the recode being a programming endeavor as fbx files and textures could just be ported over), so when recent videos show hundreds of thousands of dollars being thrown around and a refusal to outsource any part of the development it's hard to look at these delays as just one of those things, instead they seem unnecessarily self inflicted.

It's one of those things where a roadmap like this is nice, but faith in the direction of the game will only come back if those checklist targets are met consistently and even then, when it seems like every ex dev speaks in negative terms about their time on the isle mostly from working with it's management it doesn't spark much confidence that anything will change so long as management remains the same. Makes it feel less like treading water and is much nicer than having someone say soon every so often with a walk cycle added to an asset we saw months prior.

Appreciate that the checklists to show stages in development.
